Have been listening to a lot of Daft Punk lateley and if you get the chance, check out the videos of Daft Punk’s concerts on YouTube. Their mixing setup and stage is simply AMAZING… mmmm all those pretty lights
We spent the day getting ALL our products photographed professionally and the results are amazing! The photos will be uploaded to our new website, which should be ready in the next two weeks.
Here are some photos of today (my photos, explains the bad quality!):
There was a lot more gear we shot today, but just got too busy for me to stand around taking photos of the day. All in all, it was a great day. Learned heaps of things and was a great experience.
Ministry of sound is most commonly known for its “dance and beats” and associated with the clubbing scene quite heavily. However the series “Chillout sessions” has had me quite hooked with a more laid back approach of relaxed beats and smooth house which i quite enjoy. Many tracks from vast variety of artists make it hard to get bored of. If you’re keen for something fresh do check it out.
I’ve been listening to a bit of Hi-Hop lately and got myself hooked on RJD2.
RJD2 makes music varying over many categories, from Hip-Hop, Instrumental, Rock to Lounge.
During his career he has worked with many artists to produce tracks and albums.
Some examples:
EL-P
Cannibal Ox
Mos Def
Aesop Rock
Cunning Linguists
Masta Ace
Although I’ve greatly enjoyed his Hip-Hop type tracks, his latest albums “Third Hand” and “Since We Last Spoke” have really struck a chord with me. His music styling has changed and the best examples of this is in “Work It Out” and “Making Days Longer”. He now infuses lot of soft vocal on top of his laid back beats.
I had RJD2’s “Third Hand” album playing in the car, and my friend Jess commented that a few tracks resembles the Beatles! I can sort of agree, especially in “You Never Had It So Good” and “Laws Of The Gods”.
