So we went offroading again today and I thought I’d do something challenging/stupid =)
It didn’t look deep so we started driving into the water, but turned out to be pretty deep and we tried to reverse out and we got stuck BAD! Luckily my mate brought his Holden Jackaroo which was able to tow me out =)
Will definitely try it again once I have a snorkel and air locked diffs!
Here is something totally off-topic from music/audio…
Over the last few weeks, two of my mates have purchased Suzuki Sierras (small 4wd similar to my Daihatsu Feroza). First thing we did was strip the cars and took them offroad at some bush trails in Brisbane’s Southside.
Some photos of the day are below =)
I also received some body damage, my front wheel went up too much and smashed into my front guard. There is a positive outcome though, now I know how much more to guard to cut off =)
The red Sierra is Daniel’s, the white one belongs to Hugo and the grey one is mine!
Daniel’s Sierra is stock standard at the moment, but he has some hardcore mods planned which includes an engine swap, suspension mods, custom roll cage and air lockers. Hugo’s Sierra has a 2″ suspension lift, extended shackles, webber carby, sports exhaust system, and more. My Feroza has a 2″ suspension lift, upgraded intake system, 15×8 -27mm offset steel wheels and 31×12.5″ tyres.
After watching Batman: The Dark Knight for the second time, I’ve come to love the soundtrack to this movie more and more. Although it is very similar to the Batman Begins OST, the new additions are very welcomed.
I’m not much a writer/reviewer of music, but if I were to describe the score in one word it would be “dark”.
One of my favourite artists Above and Beyond have combined talents with Justine Suissa to create an album that myself and many others have long awaited for. Bought my limited signed copy and hoping its on its way!!
From the interview:
“Ibiza - the birthplace of modern dance music. 20 years on and the island remains an important catalyst for today’s hottest dance talents. This year, OceanLab, the project featuring Above & Beyond and singer/songwriter Justine Suissa spent several weeks holed up in a villa there finishing their debut album, ‘Sirens Of The Sea’.
Steeped in Balearic brilliance, ‘Sirens Of The Sea’ is a mix of blissed out epics and dancefloor cuts. An album of depth, variety and serene beauty, showcasing a level of songwriting and production rarely witnessed within electronic music, and already drawing comparisons with bands such as Zero 7 and Everything But The Girl.
As OceanLab, Tony, Paavo and Jono’s work with Justine has led to a string of club anthems such as ‘Clear Blue Water’ (Top 50 UK Sales Chart), ‘Sky Falls Down’ and ‘Beautiful Together’, with each release adding to OceanLab’s reputation as one of clubland’s best loved vocal dance projects. They crossed into the mainstream consciousness when their 4th single, ‘Satellite’, was A-listed on Radio 1 and broke into the Top 20 of the UK sales chart, enjoying similar success globally.
Have been listening to a lot of Daft Punk lateley and if you get the chance, check out the videos of Daft Punk’s concerts on YouTube. Their mixing setup and stage is simply AMAZING… mmmm all those pretty lights
We spent the day getting ALL our products photographed professionally and the results are amazing! The photos will be uploaded to our new website, which should be ready in the next two weeks.
Here are some photos of today (my photos, explains the bad quality!):
There was a lot more gear we shot today, but just got too busy for me to stand around taking photos of the day. All in all, it was a great day. Learned heaps of things and was a great experience.
Ministry of sound is most commonly known for its “dance and beats” and associated with the clubbing scene quite heavily. However the series “Chillout sessions” has had me quite hooked with a more laid back approach of relaxed beats and smooth house which i quite enjoy. Many tracks from vast variety of artists make it hard to get bored of. If you’re keen for something fresh do check it out.
