"A Milestone in Sound Engineering", is probably the best way of describing the Maximus-Ruby. Although it is the smallest M&D speaker, the Ruby has an unparalleled high output capability and true hi-fi sound reproduction far beyond its size limitation compared to any miniature speaker ever made!

A DM-4 Dreams module is mounted on front panel to cover the 900Hz-25KHz wide audio band with excellent dispersion characteristics. A 5.2” SX woofer capable of a superb ±10mm of linear excursion is used within the Compound Marble enclosure, with the system F3 reaching deep down to 45Hz! Stunning performance for a bookshelf speaker that small.

Maximus-Ruby's Dimensions are 29.0cm (H) x 17.0cm (W) x 21.3cm (D); the enclosure is very solid and heavy, each weighting 8.6Kg. The nominal impedance is 3-6 ohms with average efficiency being 82.5dB/2.83V/1m. For proper operation, a high power output amplifier with no less than 80 watts per channel is recommended for the Maximus-Ruby.

The Rubies will play unreasonably loud for their size…It might surprise you to learn however that Ruby’s midrange is warmer and fuller…Bass is shocking, period. There’s still life at 30Hz, rolled off naturally but sufficient present to mix in and support a very robust midbass. That’s simply otherworldly for a speaker this size. Unbelievable in fact. So, this isn’t a laid-back but intense speaker. Intense in a good colorful way, with kicking-boxing jump factor and completely counter-intensive fullness… In short, absolutely perfect for what I wanted.
