Following the success of their A8S CD player, Original launched a valve output CD player, the A8T. Incorporating a pair of Russian Electro Harmonix 12AU7 tubes along side an op-amp output, the A8T can provide both solid-state or valve output. The type of output is user selectable via two sets of completely separate single-ended RCA terminals at the rear.

The Op-Amp output stage features the OPA604 and NE5532 op-amps from Burr-Brown and National, respectively. In valve mode, the A8T creates a sound approaching "analogue” and gives it a more lively and musical sound than other CD players in its class. It will really get you up and dancing to the music!

Original’s A8T boasts state-of-the-art circuitry with an upsampling 24Bit/96KHz Burr-Brown PCM1792 D/A converter, and a Phillips VAM series CD transport system. Quality parts are used throughout, with components sourced from brands such as Burr-Brown, Nichicon and WIMA. Constructed mostly of aluminium, the A8T weighs in at 10Kg and features a remote control milled out of billet aluminium.
