Classic have updated their previous 8.0 model Power Amplifier with this newer 8.0b. The exterior design has been kept the same for their simple and minimalist appearance, but the internals have been given a total overhaul. Quality components have been use throughout; capacitors are supplied by Rubycon, Nichicon Muse, Samsung and WIMA. Resistors are produced by KOA from Japan, and feature non-inductance foil design. The transistors used in the power amplification circuit are provided by Toshiba from Japan. Power is supplied through a large toroidal transformer, which is then fed into a power filtration process before being sent to the voltage regulators. This insures that no stray noises and imperfections in your AC supply will affect the sound of your music. The front panel is made out of a 10mm thick piece of aluminium, the power switch and power indication LED is located at the front. Classic have also implemented a safety relay circuit, on power-up the speakers are protected from any voltage bursts. The Classic 8.0b has a full and mellow sound in the low frequency range, which is accompanied by a rich and timbre mid-range. Detail in the high end is strong yet very delicate, allowing the slightest sounds to be reproduced without being overwhelmed by any harsh or bright notes.
