We have always believed that the Trends Audio TA-10.1 amplifier is the first word in high value high performing amplifiers. Now we are proud to present out custom modified TA-10.1. We have decided to call our incarnation the COEM Audio Australia Mod, or CAA Mod for short. Also in a CAA Mod range is the Lite DAC-AH CAA Mod MKII.

Our modifications includes upgrades to many key areas of the TA-10.1.
Below is a list improvements that we have implemented, a full description of each modification will follow.

• Special order custom made ClarityCaps replace the standard input capacitors.
• Standard electrolytic tank capacitors upgraded to Elna series capacitors.
• Volume potentiometer is upgraded to OEM mini Alpha type.
• Stategic placement of dampening material on the case and capacitors.
• Measurement and adjustment of the DC bias.
• Extra QC procedures to ensure you receive the best possible product.

To pick the perfect input capacitor for the job, we tried a number of different capacitors during the period of one month. Mundorf, Aerovox, Auricap and Solen were a few brands we tried. After several months of research and tests we discovered a new capacitor from ClarityCap. After lengthy evaluations, ClarityCap was chosen and a production of custom capacitors was ordered especially for COEM Audio Australia. The ClarityCap, as the name states, is able to produce music with a lot of clarity! It does all this without ruining Trends trademark sound. There is also an increase in detail without forcing the sound to be forward or 'shouty', channel seperation also gets a boost from this upgrade.

Although the standard electrolytics capacitors were sufficient, the upgrade to Elna electrolytic capacitors gives the TA-10.1 the capacity to produce even lower bass and increase overall dynamics. Overall this gives the TA-10.1 the ability to produce very life like acoustics and dynamics.

To get the best from your source it is important to have a clean signal path, this is especially important at the volume stage. The truth is potentiometers are usually the limiting factor of any 'pre-amp' in an amplifier like the TA-10.1. So we have gone with a high quality mini Alpha volume potentiometer. This gives a more cleaner sound, clearer subtle details and better volume tracking.

Something that many manufacturers forget when producing a product, is the sound dampening of the case/chassis. To combat the many problems associated with case resonance, we have installed dampening material the case. A combination of placement and quantity of dampening used is very important, a lot of dampening is not always better. So we have taken the time to experiment with this and come up with the best combination of the TA-10.1.

Before your CAA Mod TA-10.1 is shipped out we take some extra time to run further QC examinations and tests, the DC bias is re-checked and adjusted if required. We take customer care very seriously so you can be assured to receive a top quality product.
