Ming Da has put together a very well designed headphone amplifier. Unlike many other headphone amplifiers, the MC66-AE is not a hybrid design. It is entirely tube based and is also a single-ended Class A design, which is superior to Class AB and Class B.

Internally the MC66-AE is all hand soldered point-to-point, and features three transformers, one power transformer and an output transformer for each channel. Built from entirely of 1.5mm thick steel with a 10mm thick aluminum front face, the MC66-AE weighs just a bit under 7Kg. The power transformer is custom made by Ming Da for COEM Audio to suit Australia's 240V supply voltage.

The front of the MC-66AE is populated with a power switch, volume knob, output impedance selector and a small window showing off the 3 Tubes.

Rich, lush and sweet is what you will experience when using the MC66-AE. When used with open styled headphones, the Ming Da MC66-AE outshines everything else in its category. The soundstage simply opens up and gives the feeling of space and comfort, listening fatigue will be a thing of the pass once you own a MC66-AE.
